Spurs look to build on their win over Aston Villa with another victory that could boost them into the top four.

Following an impressive victory over Aston Villa last weekend, Tottenham will aim to continue their momentum by securing a win at home against Ipswich. A three-point result at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, in their last match before the international break, could push Spurs into the top four.

Ange Postecoglou's squad has shown strong form on home turf and should present a tough challenge for newly promoted Ipswich, who are still looking for their first victory of the season under Kieran McKenna. Currently sitting ninth, Spurs can temporarily leap above Arsenal with a win, pending the Gunners’ matchup with Chelsea later on Sunday.

13:21pm - Tottenham vs Ipswich Stats

  • Tottenham have earned 24 points from behind at home this calendar year, more than any other Premier League team.

  • Ange Postecoglou’s side won all three of their home league games against promoted teams last season, each by a 2-1 scoreline, despite falling behind.

  • Ipswich have spent the least amount of time in the lead this season, with only 86 minutes.

  • Ipswich’s Leif Davis has created more chances than any other defender in the Premier League this season, with 25.

13:12pm - Ange Postecoglou has urged James Maddison to prove to both himself and incoming England manager Thomas Tuchel that he deserves a place in both the Tottenham lineup and the national team.

Maddison was left out of England's latest squad by interim coach Lee Carsley for the second consecutive time on Thursday. The £40million signing from Leicester is on the bench today after failing to make an impact in the midweek loss to Galatasaray.

When asked if he hoped Tuchel would offer Maddison more chances, Postecoglou responded: “I’ve always said that team and squad selections are more in the player's hands than the manager’s. They need to provide compelling evidence for people to make decisions. When I pick a team or when the England manager selects his squad, it's based on the evidence he has before him.

"So, if you miss out, you have to say, 'Okay, I need to provide more compelling evidence next time.' Whether it’s Madders or anyone else, they need to keep proving themselves to earn selection for the next national team."

13:03pm - For Ipswich, Jens Cajuste comes in to replace the suspended Kalvin Phillips in midfield, while Axel Tuanzebe starts in place of Conor Chaplin.

12:56pm - Cristian Romero is fit to start for Tottenham, partnering Radu Dragusin at center-back, with Micky van de Ven still out due to a hamstring injury.

Timo Werner is available for selection and has made the bench. Ange Postecoglou has the option to rotate his midfield, with Yves Bissouma, James Maddison, and Lucas Bergvall making way for Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Sarr, and Dejan Kulusevski.

12:49pm - Confirmed Team News: Romero Starts for Spurs

Tottenham XI: Vicario, Porro, Romero, Dragusin, Udogie, Sarr, Bentancur, Kulusevski, Johnson, Solanke, Son

12:23pm - Prediction

Tottenham are clear favorites in this matchup, although Ipswich have had some tough luck in recent games. Dropping points would be a setback for Ange Postecoglou’s team.

Prediction: Tottenham to win 3-1.

12:20pm - Ipswich Team News

Kalvin Phillips is suspended after his red card against Leicester last weekend, but right-back Harry Clarke is available again following his own suspension.

Dara O'Shea is expected to start once more, despite managing a persistent back issue.

12:15pm - Tottenham Team News

Ange Postecoglou is hopeful that Cristian Romero will be ready to start after a foot injury he picked up against Aston Villa.

However, Richarlison, Micky van de Ven, and Wilson Odobert are all still sidelined with hamstring issues, while Timo Werner (groin) and Mikey Moore (illness) are also unavailable.

If Romero is fit, he’ll likely partner Radu Dragusin at center-back; otherwise, Ben Davies is expected to step in again. Archie Gray could see more minutes in defense or midfield after a strong showing in Tottenham's 3-2 loss to Galatasaray in the Europa League.

With limited options up front, Heung-min Son and Brennan Johnson—both subbed off at halftime in Istanbul—are Postecoglou's only available wingers. Dominic Solanke is expected to return to the starting lineup after being rested on Thursday.

Micky Van de Ven
Micky Van de Ven will be sidelined this afternoon.
