Ange Postecoglou spoke to the media today ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s Europa League clash against AZ Alkmaar.

The Dutch side comes into the match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with one win and one loss in their first two Europa League games, and they are looking to recover from a 2-1 defeat to PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie over the weekend.

Tottenham, meanwhile, welcomed back captain Heung-min Son from injury in their 4-1 win against West Ham on Saturday. That match also saw Richarlison return to action for the first time since late August. Postecoglou also has vice-captain Cristian Romero available, after the Argentine missed their opener against Qarabag but returned for the 2-1 victory over Ferencvaros.

With challenging fixtures ahead, including trips to Galatasaray and matches against Roma and Rangers, it’s vital for Spurs to secure a win against AZ Alkmaar. It was reported earlier that both Son and Djed Spence missed training, although Wilson Odobert has returned. Postecoglou commented on Son’s absence, explaining: “Sonny was a bit sore after the weekend, he was never going to be involved tomorrow. Djed trained individually today.”

After the Europa League match, Tottenham will face Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday.
