Tottenham Hotspur suffered a 2-1 loss to Ipswich Town at home in Sunday’s Premier League clash. Here’s a rundown of Spurs player performances.

Returning from a challenging midweek match in Istanbul, where Spurs lost 3-2 to Galatasaray while playing the last 30 minutes with 10 men after Will Lankshear’s red card (moments after his first club goal), manager Ange Postecoglou made seven changes. Cristian Romero returned to the lineup after a foot injury, and Djed Spence was back on the bench after missing recent matches.

Ipswich opened the scoring at the 30-minute mark. Brennan Johnson missed an aerial challenge, giving Sammie Szmodics the chance to attempt an overhead kick, which he sent into the bottom right corner.

Shortly before halftime, Ipswich capitalized on another opportunity. Spurs failed to convert a break, and Ipswich countered swiftly. Guglielmo Vicario saved Szmodics’ low cross but deflected it into Radu Dragusin, with the ball falling perfectly for Liam Delap to finish.

Spurs pulled a goal back in the 69th minute when Rodrigo Bentancur headed home a corner from Pedro Porro. Despite their best efforts, Spurs couldn’t equalize, allowing Ipswich to secure their first Premier League win of the season.
