Stoke City have signed England Under-19 defender Ashley Phillips from Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan.
The 19-year-old central defender joined Tottenham in August 2023 after signing from Blackburn Rovers.
Although he hasn't made his first-team debut yet, he spent the second half of last season on loan at Plymouth Argyle, where he made 16 appearances, helping the team stay in the Championship. Plymouth is managed by Steven Schumacher, who used to coach at Stoke.
He is now Stoke City's eighth signing of the summer transfer window and their third loan player from a Premier League club, following the arrivals of midfielders Andrew Moran from Brighton and Lewis Koumas from Liverpool.
