Tottenham staged a dramatic late comeback to secure a 2-1 victory over Coventry City, leaving the Sky Blues devastated. Despite a strong showing from Coventry, Spurs turned the game around in the final moments, snatching the win and breaking the hearts of the home side.

Coventry City seemed poised to claim another Premier League scalp in a cup competition, but Tottenham staged a last-gasp rescue. Spurs pulled off a dramatic late comeback to edge out Coventry 2-1 and advance to the EFL Cup’s fourth round.

Coventry, playing at the Coventry Building Society Arena, took a well-earned lead thanks to Brandon Thomas-Asante. However, late goals from Djed Spence and Brennan Johnson dashed their hopes. The Championship side had been the more threatening team in the first half, with Spurs failing to muster a single shot on target. Jack Rudoni’s effort was blocked by Destiny Udogie, while Norman Bassette shot just over from a tight angle.

Tottenham narrowly escaped further trouble when Ben Davies' crucial sliding tackle prevented Haji Wright from scoring after a mix-up between Fraser Forster and Radu Dragusin. Coventry’s persistence paid off moments later, as Thomas-Asante finished Bassette’s cross from close range.

But Spurs had the final say. Spence equalized with just two minutes left, and as penalties loomed, Johnson latched onto Rodrigo Bentancur’s pass to seal the victory in stoppage time, completing a heartbreaking turnaround for Coventry.
