The Tottenham Hotspur boss has spoken to reporters today ahead of the Carabao Cup match at Coventry City on Wednesday evening.
Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham side made a strong start against North London rivals Arsenal over the weekend but once again struggled to find creativity in the final third, resulting in a lack of cutting-edge chances. Spurs are set to return to action tomorrow evening when they face Coventry City in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
Ahead of the match, Postecoglou provided crucial injury updates. Midfielder Yves Bissouma missed Tottenham's 1-0 defeat to Arsenal due to a minor injury sustained during international duty, and Richarlison will remain sidelined due to an ongoing injury.
Bissouma, who recently scored his second consecutive goal for Mali in a win against Eswatini, had to be substituted in the second half. Speaking about Bissouma's condition, Postecoglou told the club's official website, “No. He’s not where we want him to be (in his recovery), but hopefully there’s still a chance he’ll be available for the weekend.”
While Bissouma’s return seems imminent, the Spurs manager indicated that he could feature in Tottenham's upcoming Premier League fixture against Brentford on Saturday.
As for Richarlison, the Brazilian forward continues to recover and remains unavailable for the immediate future, leaving Postecoglou with limited attacking options.
